Conclusion of this clinical experiment:
Far infrared radiation has a promoting effect on the differentiation of peripheral blood stem cells. The experimental results indicate that a wavelength of 9.35μm has the optimal differentiation effect. This effect may be due to the stimulation of -OH-containing compounds (such as carbohydrates, cholesterol, NADH, vitamin B6, pyrimidine, and purine) in cells by far infrared radiation at 9.35 μm, which promotes their biochemical reactions and, consequently, cell differentiation.

Research findings:
This study focused on the pre-ganglionic neuron distribution of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems and investigated the effects of far infrared radiation. The results demonstrated that far infrared radiation can reduce the amount of O2- in the human body. Since superoxide anions serve as the basis for other reactive oxygen species (ROS), far infrared radiation can also reduce the generation of other ROS, thus lowering the probability of related diseases.
Excessive reactive oxygen species or autonomic nervous system dysfunction can lead to various diseases. Therefore, this experiment aims to provide a non-antagonistic complementary healing therapy in clinical settings, utilizing the non-invasive nature of far infrared radiation.

Regarding the physiological parameters of the autonomic nervous system, after 10 minutes of far infrared radiation, the SDNN value showed improvement, and after 20 minutes of radiation, the RMSSD value increased. Additionally, the experiment showed that 15 minutes of far infrared radiation can increase sympathetic nervous system activity, while radiation to the brainstem and thoracolumbar and sacral vertebrae for 15 minutes can promote parasympathetic nervous system activity. Notably, irradiation of the pre-ganglionic neurons of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems (brainstem, thoracolumbar, and sacral vertebrae) for 40 minutes significantly enhances total power.

Research findings:
The application of far infrared radiation on male patients with Brunnstrom stages 3-5 and the skin temperature of the paralyzed side's distal upper limb showed a significant increase, indicating improved blood circulation and enhanced sensation in the distal limbs. Due to increased heat exchange and temperature regulation, the temperature between the paralyzed and non-paralyzed sides in females reached similar levels after IR-C treatment. The EC and VAS scores also indicated that IR-C irradiation could alleviate the pain commonly experienced by stroke patients on the paralyzed side and alleviate frustration during the rehabilitation period. In conclusion, IR-C HC (Infrared Radiation Combined with Heat Compression) is considered a novel and promising method to enhance stroke patient recovery by increasing microcirculation and reducing pain. IR-C HC can be used as an alternative to acupuncture. It is a non-invasive and non-burning method that is convenient to use.

Research findings:
FIR (Far Infrared) heat therapy significantly reduces glycosylated hemoglobin, fasting blood glucose, insulin resistance, total cholesterol, low-to-high-frequency power ratio, diastolic blood pressure, degree of arterial hardening, and degree of arterial blockage in middle-aged and elderly patients with type 2 diabetes. It also significantly increases superoxide dismutase activity, heart rate variability, normalized high-frequency percentage, heart rate, and peripheral blood circulation in the feet. For middle-aged and elderly individuals without diabetes, FIR heat therapy also significantly reduces total cholesterol, diastolic blood pressure, degree of arterial hardening, and degree of arterial blockage. Additionally, it significantly increases superoxide dismutase activity, heart rate variability, heart rate, and peripheral blood circulation in the feet.

Research findings:
The intervention method of far infrared-C in patients with chronic tinnitus has been shown to effectively reduce blood pressure, improve tinnitus distress (as evidenced by reduced scores on functional evaluation, emotional evaluation, severity evaluation, and total VAS score), increase SDNN (standard deviation of normal-to-normal intervals) to enhance autonomic nervous system regulation in tinnitus patients, and restore the LF/HF (low frequency/high frequency) ratio to an ideal level. The results of this experimental study provide an alternative, safe, and effective option for tinnitus relief in patients with chronic tinnitus.

Research findings:
This study demonstrated a significant inhibitory effect of far infrared radiation on the growth of human cervical cancer cell lines CC7 and SIHA, as well as breast cancer cell lines MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231. The inhibitory effect showed a positive correlation with the duration and temperature of radiation, indicating that far infrared radiation indeed has a suppressive effect on the growth of human cervical cancer cells. Further research revealed that far infrared radiation induced cell cycle arrest and cell death in these cell lines, primarily by causing a G0/G1 phase cell cycle arrest.

Research findings:
Significant improvements (p<0.05) were observed in both the experimental and control groups in the assessment of rhinitis and sinusitis before and after the study. The total scores of the Allergic Rhinitis Questionnaire based on the Taiwan version of the WHOQOL-BREF (World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire) showed significant differences in both groups. Furthermore, the study results indicated the following: (1) Effective improvement in allergic rhinitis symptoms, reduction of complications such as sinusitis and asthma, and prevention of allergic rhinitis occurrence. (2) Improved sleep disturbances caused by allergic rhinitis, with the experimental group (p=0.0015) showing better results than the control group (p=0.085), leading to enhanced social functioning and improved quality of life. (3) Enhanced immune system of the respiratory system, resulting in reduced frequency of colds and decreased occurrence of complications such as sinusitis or asthma. (4) Improvement in traditional Chinese medicine constitution, with the experimental group (p=0.015) showing better results than the medication control group (p=0.385). (5) No significant differences were observed in IgE and ECP blood tests between the two groups (p>0.05), but the majority of participants reported 30-80% improvement in sensitivity to specific odors, dust, and temperature changes.
